2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport Build Overview.

2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport Build Tacoma Mods Tacoma Lift Kit Tacoma Roof Rack Mobile Photography Studio Brand Collaboration

This is the 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport I built over several years and documented with the same attention to detail I bring to client work. The truck started as a daily driver and turned into the first real platform for my photography. Every mod on this page was installed, tested, photographed, and used in real life.

The Tacoma became the original mobile studio. ProMaster light stands ride in the bed, the BillieBars rack holds support gear, and the truck has been on back roads, location shoots, and brand collaborations. It was featured by ProMaster in their article on the Air Support light stand, and it was used and filmed for a BillieBars commercial.

This page is the build archive and the photo proof from that chapter of the work. Now driving the 2025 4Runner

Rough Country 3.5" Lift with Vertex Coilovers. Rough Country 3.5" Lift + Vertex Coilovers

This 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport build runs a Rough Country 3.5 inch lift with Vertex adjustable coilovers up front and rear leaf springs in the back. The full truck sits at the 3.5 inch ride height, not just the front. The setup gives the Tacoma a stronger stance, more clearance for back-road work, and keeps the truck practical to daily drive between photo shoots and gear runs.

RockTrix Classic Seven wheels paired with Falken WildPeak AT3W tires. A real all-terrain that handles back roads and snow without ruining the highway ride.

Wheels & Tires

RockTrix + Falken WildPeak.

RockTrix Classic Seven split-spoke mesh wheels paired with Falken WildPeak AT3W tires in 265/70R17. The wheel face fills the arches without looking stretched, and the AT3W carries a real all-terrain pattern that holds up to wet roads, gravel, and Pennsylvania winters.

The setup is the visual anchor of the build. Black mesh face, aggressive sidewall, and a stance that reads off-road without losing daily-driver usability.

05 BillieBars Commercial Feature

Used in a BillieBars Commercial Feature.

The Tacoma was not just photographed for the build. It was also used and filmed for a BillieBars commercial, which is the kind of real brand content this truck was built to make. Watch below.

06 Lighting and Exterior

TRD Pro Grille, AlphaRex and Lighting Upgrades.

Rear detail of a 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport build showing AlphaRex jet-black taillights, TRD 4x4 Sport bedside graphic, rear bumper, exhaust tip, and off-road stance photographed by Ian Jones for ISJDESIGNS.
Front + Rear Lighting

AlphaRex + TRD Pro Grille.

AlphaRex PRO-Series taillights in jet black finish the rear of the truck. Direct bolt-on, no modifications, and they pair clean with the SNAILARMOR custom tailgate and Flowmaster black tips below. Up front, a TRD Pro grille with raptor lights gives the TRD Sport a more aggressive face.

A Rough Country 30 inch Cree LED light bar handles the heavy front-end work, and a Rough Country LED tailgate strip ties the back of the truck together at night. The whole lighting package was picked to read OEM+ rather than aftermarket.

Exhaust
Flowmaster FlowFX Dual

Flowmaster FlowFX dual exhaust with black tips. Real tone improvement over the stock V6 setup without being loud enough to get old on long drives. Sounds best between 2,500 and 4,000 rpm.

Tailgate
SNAILARMOR Custom

A custom SNAILARMOR Tacoma tailgate panel with ISJDESIGNS branding. One-off rear treatment that turns the back of the truck into part of the brand identity in build content.

07 Interior and Daily Use

Interior, WeatherTech and Daily-Use Upgrades.

Interior view of the 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport build showing custom black leather seats with stitched details, rear cabin space, and upgraded daily-use interior photographed by Ian Jones for ISJDESIGNS.
Interior & Daily Driver

Custom Leather + WeatherTech.

The cabin runs a custom leather interior with heated seats, white LED interior lights, and a Kicker sound system for the cabin. WeatherTech protects the rest. FloorLiner HP on the floor, window deflectors for cracking the windows in the rain, and a hood protector up front.

A K&N cold air intake and cabin filter handles the intake side. Out back, a Rough Country soft roll-up bed cover sits over a Toyota OEM rubber bed mat, and Rough Country retractable power board steps drop down when the doors open. Daily-driver practical, build-page worthy.

08 Mobile Photography Studio

How I Used This Tacoma as a Mobile Studio.

Behind-the-scenes of Pittsburgh photographer Ian Jones photographing a female model in his 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport mobile studio for ISJDESIGNS.

The Tacoma is what turned my work into something portable. ProMaster light stands slot into the bed under the BillieBars rack. Camera gear lives in the cabin. The roof rack handles anything bigger. Between jobs, I park, pull, and shoot.

The truck was featured by ProMaster in their article on the Air Support light stand, walking through how the bed becomes a portable studio in minutes. That setup is the foundation of a lot of my Pittsburgh automotive photography work and the brand collaborations the truck has been part of.

The Tacoma was also used and filmed for the BillieBars commercial above. Real product, real truck, real content. That is the kind of brand work this build was always meant to make.

09 Brands On This Build

Brands On This Tacoma Build.

Every part on this truck came from a brand worth naming. These are the manufacturers behind the Tacoma build, in alphabetical order. Each one was installed, tested, photographed, and used in real driving and shoot conditions.

11 FAQ

FAQ: 2019 Tacoma Mods, Lift, and Setup.

Straight answers about the lift, wheel and tire setup, roof rack, tail lights, exhaust, and how the Tacoma is used for photography and brand content.

A Rough Country 3.5 inch lift with Vertex adjustable coilovers and rear leaf springs, RockTrix Classic Seven wheels, Falken WildPeak AT3W 265/70R17 tires, a Prinsu roof rack with Red Ridgeline handles, BillieBars 8 inch bed rack brackets with small Molle panels, AlphaRex PRO-Series taillights in jet black, a TRD Pro grille with raptor lights, K&N cold air intake, Flowmaster FlowFX dual exhaust with black tips, Rough Country LED tailgate strip and 30 inch Cree light bar, retractable power board steps, soft roll-up bed cover, SNAILARMOR custom tailgate, WeatherTech FloorLiner HP, window deflectors and hood protector, Kicker sound system, custom leather interior with heated seats, and white LED interior lights.
A 3.5L DOHC V6 with 24-valve valvetrain. Toyota's 2GR-FKS V6 was the standard engine in the 3rd gen TRD Sport, paired with a 6-speed automatic on this build.
278 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 265 lb-ft of torque at 4,600 rpm from the factory 3.5L V6. The K&N cold air intake on this build cleans up the intake side without changing the published factory numbers.
Rough Country 3.5 inch lift with Vertex adjustable coilovers up front and rear leaf springs in the back. The full truck sits at the 3.5 inch ride height, not just the front. The setup gives the Tacoma a more aggressive stance and more clearance for off-road work, and it still drives like a daily.
RockTrix Classic Seven split-spoke mesh wheels paired with Falken WildPeak AT3W tires in 265/70R17. The Falken WildPeaks are a real all-terrain that handles wet roads, gravel back roads, and snow without making highway driving loud or harsh.
Yes. On this build, 265/70R17 fits cleanly with the Rough Country 3.5 inch lift. No rubbing at normal driving or full lock. Fills the wheel arches without looking stretched or undersized.
A Prinsu roof rack with Red Ridgeline handles on top and BillieBars 8 inch high bracket bed rack with small Molle panels in the bed. The Prinsu fits the Tacoma's roofline clean without looking bolted-on. The BillieBars handle ProMaster light stands, camera support gear, and brand-shoot kit when the truck doubles as a mobile studio.
Yes, direct bolt-on. Jet black housing, no modifications needed on this build. The PRO-Series upgrade is one of the cleanest visual changes on the rear of the truck and pairs well with the SNAILARMOR custom tailgate.
Yes. The TRD Pro grille bolts onto the 3rd gen Tacoma front end and gives the TRD Sport the more aggressive Pro-style face. On this build the grille is paired with raptor lights for a stronger front-end look.
Flowmaster FlowFX dual exhaust with black tips. Real tone improvement over the stock V6 setup without being loud enough to get old on long drives. Sounds best between 2,500 and 4,000 rpm.
All the time. The truck doubles as a mobile studio. ProMaster light stands fit in the bed, the BillieBars rack holds support gear, and the build has been on location shoots, back-road sessions, and brand collaborations. The Tacoma was also featured by ProMaster in their article on the Air Support light stand, and it was used and filmed for a BillieBars commercial.
The Tacoma is the original build that grew into the mobile studio and brand-content vehicle. The current active build is now a 2025 Toyota 4Runner TRD Sport, which carries the same idea forward on a new platform. The Tacoma page works as the build archive and photo proof from that chapter of the work.

Now Driving: 2025 4Runner.

2025 Toyota 4Runner TRD Sport Underground build photographed by Ian Jones for ISJDESIGNS as the current vehicle build project.

The Tacoma was the original build. The truck that became a mobile studio, the platform for the photography work, and the vehicle behind the ProMaster article and the BillieBars commercial.

The current active build is a 2025 Toyota 4Runner TRD Sport in Underground. Same idea, new platform, more documented from day one. If this Tacoma is the archive, the 4Runner is the live page.
